Our RevITup Backup and Disaster Recovery Series may be the best thing since sliced bread… and we are constantly looking for ways to make it even more effective for you. As a fixed-space backup system, it is a great idea to create some separate partitions that can be used for non-critical file storage but don’t necessarily have to be designated for offsite backup (or even onsite backup if the data is does not need to really need to be saved). This can occur in a couple of ways:
1) We can use an existing partition and designate it for onsite or no backup. This can be used for storing software images, or temporary files, or FTP downloads or other non-critical data.
2) We can install a secondary drive in your server and designate partitions to be used in the same manner.
Managing your BDR space can save money in offsite storage costs and ensure the BDR does not reach capacity too soon. If you find you are outgrowing your current BDR, no problem. Your Client Solutions Manager can advise on options for upgrading. If you have any questions or would to have your CSM review your current BDR system, please don’t hesitate to give our support team a call and they will be happy to assist.
