As an avowed “multi-mon” addict (see my blog post “When One Monitor Isn’t Enough – Confessions of a “Multi-Mon” Addict”) I get really intrigued when a new product is introduced that offers users the enhanced productivity and efficiency offered by using multiple monitors, but with a twist. HP may have just introduced the perfect on-the-go monitor for the mobile user, the u160 portable monitor.
Using an ingenious flip and fold case design, this thin, light monitor can be flipped open and propped up while in use and then folded flat for protection – much like how the iPad case works. To increase it’s portability, the monitor doesn’t require a dedicated power supply but instead plugs in to your notebook with a USB for both output and power. As with all multiple monitor solutions, users can extend their screen for enhanced productivity or clone their screen for presentations on the go. Weighing in at just 3.4 pounds the u160 has a 15.6 inch LED backlit display but with only 1366 x 768 pixels of resolution, this may not be a monitor one would choose to use as a primary monitor but it is a perfect solution for the busy road warrior.
Ready for release this month, the HP u160 is on sale on our online store for $139.00. For more information on solutions for running your businesses’ technology more efficiently, visit our website or contact Megan Meisner at mmeisner@launchpadonline.com or 813 920 0788 x210.
