CloudConvert is a free website and Chrome browser application that can convert over 200 different file formats including PDF, TXT, DOC, DOCX, OGA, WMA, MP3, MP4, and AVIs. Since the application is in the cloud there isn’t any software to install on your local workstation. Simply upload a file, select the output format, convert it and choose where you would like the file to be saved. You can also select to directly download the converted or email it. CloudConvert is also fully integrated with Zapier. With Zapier CloudConvert can connect to over 500 applications like Evernote, Basecamp, Gmail, Trello, and Slack.

What’s great about CloudConvert is that it is filled with advanced features like setting the codecs of your audio and video files. Aside from this, it also supports batch conversion plus you can also opt to merge or compress multiple files into one. When creating PDF files from DOCX or PPTX files CloudConvert can now dynamically change the content. This feature makes it more convenient to create invoices or mass letters dynamically. Technically you set up a DOCX template with placeholders (for example ${name}). While converting the DOCX file to PDF CloudConvert can replace these placeholders with custom values. This even works for tables with a variable amount of rows.

Free plans cover 25 conversion minutes per day, file sizes up to 1 GB, and 5 concurrent conversions. Users who exceed the free plan can choose from a prepaid package based on a number of conversion minutes or a subscription model calculated by the number of conversion minutes used per month.
