When considering a security system for a small business, many will find the cost of a fully monitored system to be so prohibitive they opt to leave their offices unprotected. Some business owners have tried to build their own security system using motion activated webcams and other components but in most cases these solutions aren’t worth the time and money to set them up. An effective security system should provide an alert of a break in and allow you to visually monitor the premises. iSmartAlarm with iCamera is an affordable solution that does just that and more.
ISmartAlarm is an affordable, do-it-yourself security system that lets you monitor your property from anywhere using your iOS or Android smart device. The system is scalable and can be customized to fit most small business environments. The $199 Preferred Package includes two door/window sensors, on motion sensor, two remote tags with presence sessors and a CubeOne, the brains of the system. The $349 Premium Package includes all of the above as well as an iCamera with remote pan, tilt, zoom capabilities. Additional sensors, remote tags and motion sensors can be purchased to fit the needs of your environment.
To set up the system, connect the CubeOne via an ethernet connection to your router. The 4-inch CubeOne houses a very loud siren and a radio frequency transmitter that communicates with the sensors. the iCamera is a Wif-Fi enabled devices with a 350-degree viewing range that you control by swiping the image on your Smartphone. The iCamera does not currently offer motion detection and the system only supports one camera, but when iSmartAlarm issue the iCamera V2 later this year, both will be available. The motion detector has a 90-degree detection angle and has a wall mounting base and arm assembly that lets you swivel the device for optimal coverage. The remote tags act as both a controller and a presence sensor that can log the comings and goings of your staff. Remote tags have four buttons. Arm and disarm to enable or disable every system device and the alarm, Home to disarm the motion sensor but leave the contact sensors enabled and the Panic button to set off the siren if needed.
With the iSmartAlarm you can outfit your business with a smartphone-enabled security system for a fraction of the cost of a professionally installed fee-based system. Of course it won’t alert the police when a break-in occurs, but it does send you notifications and dials up to three phone numbers to inform you of a breach. The smartphone app is well designed and user friendly, and the system is easy to install and configure. Most importantly, it does what it is supposed to do, which is alert you when somebody is trying to gain unauthorized access to your business.
