One of the many challenges of managing remote teams is keeping up with the multitude of free or almost free online collaboration tools team members are using. Some project managers may try to impose a standardized set of applications for their teams but as new tools are released users tend to be attracted to using the latest and greatest app hoping for increased efficiency and ease of use.
With CatchApp, project managers can keep track of what team members are doing regardless of their preferred flavor of collaboration. CatchApp watches for worker’s activities and provides updates from commonly used apps like Basecamp, Box, Dropbox, Evernote, Trello, Podio, Pivotal Tracker, Bitbucket, Yammer, Salesforce Chatter, Mendeley, Lighthouse, GitHub, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Highrise, Twitter, Zendesk and RSS feeds to name a few. Lists can be created so you can customize tracking by key criteria, certain tags, folders, notebooks, etc. CatchApp will send a notifcation for any new update on any specified list. CatchApp also allows customized reporting making it easy to keep teams informed on a project’s progress.
CatchApp is free for the first 100 updates per month. 100 – 1000 updates is $8.99. Currently the app is only available for iPhone, but the CatchApp developers will soon be releasing a version for Windows and Android phones.
