Recent studies have shown that 60% of mobile device users download up to 5 new apps per month and 12% have more than 50 apps on they regularly use, in some cases spending 10% more time working with apps than they do on the internet. To keep up with the demand, developers are creating apps in record numbers. Every month in our Mobile App Series Tech Recs we feature the apps that we believe would be most beneficial to you when running your business. This month we will cover iBrainstorm, CyberTwin, and Chimpadeedoo.
Check out our past posts on the following apps: Bump, iTeleport & Cashbook, Lookout, Evernote & Dropbox, Salesforce, Lyris HQ and LinkedIn, Encamp, Google Analytics, GoToMeeting, RDP Lite, Mighty Meeting, Intuit GoPayment, and Springpad, Scan2PDF and Documents to Go.
iBrainstorm
IBrainstorm turns your iPad into an office collaboration tool. Using Bluetooth connections and an iPhone companion app, your team can brainstorm project ideas and share them on the iPad’s collaboration board with a flick of a finger. Notes can be color coded and arranged with a tap to help with categories and timelines. The interface has multiple colored “pens” that allow you to draw on the board. Hook your iPad2 to a projector or monitor and share your iBrainstorm screen during a presentation. See iBrainstorm in action.
MyCyberTwin
If you are like most small business owners, you wear many different “hats” throughout the day and probably wish you had the ability to clone yourself. At this point a clone is just a fantasy but how about a CyberTwin? With the MyCyberTwin application you can create a virtual intelligent human being that can be added onto your website or social media site to provide intelligent interaction and customer service when you aren’t available to engage in a live chat yourself. CyberTwin virtual agents have both text to speech and Siri-like speech to text capabilities and can live in any virtual environment. Personal users can create a twin for free to chat with friends on Facebook or on personal websites. For $25 a month, Business users can develop a more “intelligent” twin that can direct web visitors to specific information on the site, gather information for sales or live customer service follow up, and answer frequently asked questions about the services your business provides. Building a twin is fairly easy and takes from a couple of hours to a few days, depending on how smart your want it to be.
Chimpadeedoo
When going to a conference or networking event everyone collects business cards and contact information for later follow up. Chimpadeedoo is a cool kiosk-style app tied into the MailChimp email marketing service that allows you to gather email-addresses via an interface on your iPad. You can brand and customize the background and text and turn your iPad into a sign-up form. The collected email addresses will transfer wirelessly to any MailChimp list allowing effortless follow up with newsletter or email marketing campaigns.
