It is predicted that by 2012 mobile internet useage should take over desktop internet usage! With mobile usage on the rise and almost 1 million mobile applications existing today (and an estimated 2,000 apps being released on a daily basis) it is important for you to know what mobile apps are actually worth your time. Our Mobile App Series will cut through the app clutter and educate you on what apps can help you more effectively run your business. Our first Mobile App Series article covered Encamp, Google Analytics and GoToMeeting. This month we are going to cover RDP Lite, Mighty Meeting and Intuit GoPayment.
RDP Lite
Remember the last time you headed out to a meeting only to realize you forgot that all important file on your work or home computer? No need to worry about that happening anymore; there is an app that allows you to access those files right from your mobile device! The Launch Pad has tested different options available and in our opinion RDP Lite is the best pick. Once the app and your computer are set up for the remote desktop connection you are able to login to your work or home computer directly from your device. Once you login, you will be able to see the files, programs and resources the same exact way you would if you were sitting at your desk – just on a smaller screen.
Mighty Meeting
Imagine being able to start up any demo video or presentation on demand while you are at a prospect’s office trying to explain a product or service offering. MightyMeeting allows you to store a library of presentations and demo videos in the Cloud so you can access them on your mobile device anytime. You can also share the presentations via email, blog, Twitter, Facebook and even start a webmeeting that will allow you to share your screen right from your mobile device. MightyMeeting is making it possible for you to have access to all presentations anytime and anywhere.
Intuit GoPayment
Wouldn’t it be nice to take credit card payments right from your mobile device while you are off-site with a customer? Intuit GoPayment allows you to do just that! Not only will the app sync with QuickBooks but it will also provide you with a free credit card reader that attaches directly to your device to make processing payments even easier. The app also allows you to email or text a custom receipt after the transaction is completed. There is no monthly fee for this service but you will have to pay a small fee per transaction.
